Member Services Coordinator (part-time)
Location: Washington, D.C.Supervisor: Member Services Manager
Position Description
This part-time position is responsible for handling Member Services, Wildlife Guardian, and Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund inquiries and correspondence and assisting in the maintenance of the Membership database.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for understanding Defenders’ Membership files and how to use the PIDI database system
- Responsible for fulfilling membership requests, including magazines, annual reports, adoption kits, membership packets, and routine information inquiries
- Coordinate Membership correspondence and e-mailed inquiries, including the generation of form letters/merges and original, personalized letters
- Work closely with inbound service partner on handling member inquiries, which includes Action Fund (c4), via telephone or e-mail. Serves as first point of contact for any issues that our inbound service provider cannot answer.
- Annotate, update, and correct membership records as necessary
- Responsible for processing gift memberships and tribute gifts within one week of receipt
- Assemble mail package to DMP containing postal communications from nixies for processing; track processing of white mail donations. All donations must be processed within 24 hours of receipt.
- Follow up on comments received from telemarketing vendor on a daily basis
- Handles data entry for Member Services and Wildlife Guardian
- Assist computer bureau representative and fulfillment representatives with issues pertaining to data entry and fulfillment procedures
- Responsible for processing incoming mail
- Update Member Services all/e-mail log on monthly basis
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalentExperience: 1+ years of administrative experience; membership or development experience preferred
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrated organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Must be computer literate with experience in or ability to learn database administration
- Solid word processing and spreadsheet experience
- Outstanding telephone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
