Our Annual Photo Contest is back!

Enter Defenders of Wildlife’s 8th annual photo contest and you could win prizes worth up to $1,000!

Whether you are an accomplished nature photographer or you just love the thrill of trying to snap that perfect shot, this is your chance to show off your skills! Defenders’ 8th annual photo contest launches February 15th and will be open for submissions until March 24th. Last year’s contest brought in over 2,000 images and we are looking forward to seeing what beautiful photography we will receive this year. Our contest features two categories, wildlife and wild lands, with the best in each category eligible for cash prizes from B&H Photo. We especially look for photos of our key species including grizzly bears, wolves, sea turtles and bison – check out the full list here. We do not accept any photos of captive wildlife.

Photos that meet our requirements are often used to help highlight our work, whether in print or online. Your photography may be featured in our quarterly magazine, in a post on social media or as a visual aid in one of our other publication materials. Now more than ever it is crucial to highlight nature’s beauty and we rely on photographers like you to help us raise awareness about our imperiled wildlife and wild lands.

To inspire you to submit more of your wonderful photography this year, we compiled a video slideshow of some of the best entries we received in 2016. Thank you in advance for your dedication to furthering our mission through photography. We can’t wait to see your submissions!
