The Wildlife Conservation Awards Dinner celebrates and honors individuals with a lasting and exceptional commitment to wildlife conservation. The evening includes inspiring remarks by our honorees, a sustainable vegetarian dinner and the opportunity to mingle with over 250 guests, including the members of Defenders’ Board of Directors, honorees and other special guests.

This year’s honorees include U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) who is receiving the Legacy Award for his many years as a wildlife champion on Capitol Hill; Joel Clement, a former official at the U.S. Department of the Interior who made headlines in 2017 for blowing the whistle on the Trump administration’s disregard of climate change science; Marianna Treviño Wright, Executive Director of the National Butterfly Center, for her advocacy on behalf of wildlife in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and along our southern border; and Hilary Zaranek-Anderson, a rancher who has pioneered techniques to allow wildlife and livestock to coexist. TV personality Jeff Corwin will be our emcee for the night.
