Peter Clerkin joined Defenders of Wildlife as Director of Communications in December 2021. Peter has over sixteen years of experience working in board rooms, campaign headquarters, and the halls of Congress helping folks with great ideas share them with new and diverse audiences. He served as a senior advisor, campaign manager, and spokesman for numerous elected officials, political organizations, and presidential, congressional, and state candidates. Most recently, he directed communications for a trade association promoting minority small business ownership.  

Peter holds a M.A. from the University of Kent (Canterbury, UK) and a B.A. from George Mason University.
