As Staff Scientist, Talia provides science support, research and coordination for Defenders. She works with the Center for Conservation Innovation’s Science Team to serve as a resource and bridge-builder for Defenders’ conservation programs and external science networks.
Prior to joining Defenders, Talia completed her Master of Environmental Management degree from the Yale School of the Environment with a specific focus in Ecosystem Conservation and Management. Her research centered on evaluating protected area priorities by balancing ecological and community needs. She previously completed her B.A. in Environmental Science at Brandeis University. Talia’s understanding of conservation science is informed by her experience working with a wide array of environmental nonprofits and conducting field work in the U.S. and abroad.
