Kara joined Defenders in 2022 after the completion of her first published paper on hawksbill sea turtle diets using stable isotope analysis. She now fuels her passion for ecology and the natural world by sourcing funding for this crucial work.

Kara holds a MS in Biology and a BS in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution, both from the University of California San Diego.
