Sam joined Defenders after working for four years for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, first as a Legal Fellow and then as a Trial Attorney. 

At the EEOC, Sam litigated employment discrimination cases involving sex, pregnancy, disability, religion, and age. Sam received their J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and their B.A. in History, Chinese, and International and Area Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.
