Thanks to contributions from private citizens and conservation groups, the reward for information leading to an arrest in the fatal poisoning of eight gray wolves in Oregon earlier this year reached nearly $48,000.

"This is, by far, the largest reward sum for a poaching case in Oregon, and it is a good indicator of how much Oregonians and others who care about our wolves want the perpetrator(s) brought to justice," said Sristi Kamal, senior Northwest representative for Defenders of Wildlife. "We hope the nearly $48,000 reward will be a strong incentive for someone to do the right thing and come forward with helpful information."
