The Endangered Species Act

In 2023, we recognized the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, our strongest law for preventing extinction and restoring species to their natural landscapes. In our report, "The Endangered Species Act: The Next 50 Years and Beyond," we explore the Act's successes and where its implementation has fallen short. We also share insight into how the Act may be applied and bolstered with new technology and policy implementation to continue its near-perfect track record of preventing extinction into the future.
