Join us on this exclusive trip to the San Juan Islands! From orcas and seals to eagles and porpoises, the Salish Sea has spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities. With local guides, members get an insider’s perspective of the wildlife and habitat of the San Juan Islands ecosystem.
The atmosphere is relaxed and casual throughout the trip, and the beautiful setting could not be more appropriate for learning about Defenders' Northwest programs.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE?
All participants, or one member of the family, must be a current Defenders of Wildlife Leadership Council member as of August 1, 2019. Need to renew or upgrade your membership? Please visit the Defenders of Wildlife Leadership Council webpage for more details.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Designated a national monument in 2013, the San Juan Islands will provide participants with mountain views, verdant forests and stellar wildlife viewing. The trip is led by a sustainable tour company that supports conservation efforts on the San Juan Islands. While each day has a similar structure, the focus will give participants a complete overview of wildlife in San Juan Islands.
A list of recommended clothing and equipment will be provided. Participants should be comfortable adapting to changes in weather circumstances.
ACCOMMODATIONS
