Katie Arberg joined Defenders of Wildlife in January 2020, bringing six years of specialized communications experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency.

She previously served as a Communications Specialist supporting the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy where she led media relations for Energy Efficiency and communications for Renewable Energy. In this role, she informed the media of cost-effective energy-saving solutions for residential and commercial buildings and R&D advancements in Geothermal, Solar, Water, Wind technologies as well as grid modernization.

She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Social Work from Radford University in Radford, Virginia.
