  • WEAKENING PROTECTIONS FOR WETLANDS AND WATERWAYS  

    The House passed a resolution that would have weakened Clean Water Act protections for wetlands and waterways by revoking a revised regulatory definition of “Waters of the United States.” (March 9, 2023, Roll Call No. 142). 

  • EXPANDING FOSSIL FUEL DEVELOPMENT AND OVERRIDING BEDROCK LAWS 

    The House passed a bill to mandate expanded fossil fuel development and override laws including the National Environmental Policy Act, threatening important habitats, the critically imperiled Rice’s whale, and many additional endangered species as well impacted communities. (March 30, 2023, Roll Call No. 182).

  • EXEMPTING THE MILITARY FROM COMPLYING WITH THE ESA 

    The House rejected an amendment that would have exempted U.S. military from complying with the Endangered Species Act. (July 13, 2023, Roll Call No. 322). 

  • REVOKING PROTECTIONS FOR THE IMPERILED LESSER PRAIRIE CHICKEN 

    The House passed a resolution that would have revoked the Endangered Species Act listings of two populations of the lesser prairie chicken as threatened and endangered, respectively. (July 27, 2023, Roll Call No. 381). 

  • REVOKING PROTECTIONS FOR THE IMPERILED NORTHERN LONG-EARED BAT 

    The House passed a resolution that would have revoked stronger protections for the northern long-eared bat stemming from a rule reclassifying its status from threatened to endangered under the Endangered Species Act. (July 27, 2023, Roll Call No. 382). 

  • BLOCKING DRAFT RULES TO STRENGTHEN ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT IMPLEMENTATION 

    The House passed an amendment to prohibit FWS from completing a rulemaking process to strengthen implementation of the Endangered Species Act. (November 2, 2023, Roll Call No. 575). 

  • UNDERMINING PROTECTIONS AND FUNDING FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES

    The House passed an appropriations bill with 15 provisions undermining the Endangered Species Act and other environmental protections and cutting funding for endangered species, national wildlife refuges and other public lands, clean water, clean air, climate change and many other vital environmental programs. (November 3, 2023, Roll Call No. 597).

  • RESCINDING THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT’S CONSERVATION AND LANDSCAPE HEALTH RULE 

    The House passed a bill that would rescind the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Conservation and Landscape Health Rule, which puts conservation, access to nature, wildlife, and climate change mitigation on equal footing with energy extraction on BLM public lands. (April 30, 2024, Roll Call No. 165)

  • PROHIBITING FEDERAL AGENCIES FROM REGULATING TOXIC LEAD AMMUNITION AND TACKLE ON FEDERAL LANDS 

    The House passed a bill that would prohibit the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture from regulating the use of lead ammunition or tackle on certain federal lands or waters under their jurisdiction. (April 30, 2024, Roll Call No. 167) 

  • REVOKING GRAY WOLF ESA PROTECTIONS 

    The House passed a bill to delist the gray wolf under the Endangered Species Act, which would revoke federal protections for the species and undermine the scientific integrity of the ESA. (April 30, 2024, Roll Call No. 169) 

  • BLOCKING EFFORTS TO STOP ALASKA OIL LEASING 

    The House passed a bill to prevent the President or the Department of the Interior from placing a moratorium, suspending, or otherwise attempting to prevent or pause oil and gas leasing in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, policies that would open the Arctic Refuge to drilling and have devastating consequences for its biological integrity. (May 1, 2024, Roll Call No. 174) 

  • EXEMPTING THE MILITARY FROM COMPLYING WITH THE ESA  

    The House rejected an amendment that would have exempted the U.S. military from complying with the Endangered Species Act. (June 12, 2024, Roll Call No. 255)  

  • FUNDING DAMAGING BORDER WALL CONSTRUCTION  

    The House passed an appropriations bill that would allocate $600 million in funding for damaging new border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, thereby harming border wildlife, border lands, and border communities while also failing to provide $225 million requested by the president for activities to mitigate impacts related to border wall construction. (June 28, 2024, Roll Call No. 333)  

  • UNDERMINING PROTECTIONS AND FUNDING FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES AND OTHER WILDLIFE  

    The House passed an appropriations bill with 24 provisions undermining the Endangered Species Act and other protections for wildlife, and cutting funding for endangered species, national wildlife refuges and other public lands, clean water, clean air, climate change and many other vital environmental programs. (July 24, 2024, Roll Call No. 399)  

  • ALLOWING LOGGING PROJECTS TO AVOID ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEWS  

    The House passed a bill that would open federal land to logging projects by avoiding environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act, ignoring science relevant to species under the Endangered Species Act, and blocking access to judicial review. (September 24, 2024, Roll Call No. 448)
