Colorado Parks and Wildlife today confirmed three new wolf packs have formed since the translocation of 15 gray wolves from British Columbia in January, each welcoming a litter of pups. The new packs, named One Ear Pack, King Mountain Pack and Three Creeks Pack, join the Copper Creek Pack, which formed in 2024 following the state’s first wave of reintroduced gray wolves as part of the state-mandated gray wolf reintroduction program. CPW confirmed the Copper Creek Pack produced a new litter of pups this season as well. Kaitie Schneider, Colorado representative to Defenders of Wildlife, shared the following statement:

"Seeing wolves born in Colorado as a result of the reintroduction effort is incredibly exciting and a strong indicator of success for the program. This achievement comes with the ongoing need to ensure the return of wolves supports both people and wildlife, and Defenders remains committed to working with ranchers, agencies and local partners to put effective conflict mitigation tools in place on the ground."
