Erica joins Defenders with fourteen years of experience as a trial attorney in the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, where she served in both the Environmental Enforcement and Environmental Crimes sections. Her work included litigating civil penalties under the Clean Water Act for the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and combatting illegal logging through the Lacey Act’s criminal enforcement provisions. She began her legal career as an Honors Attorney Fellow in the Environmental Protection Agency’s regional office in San Francisco.

Prior to law school, Erica worked as a research associate at the Environmental Law Institute and interned at numerous environmental organizations, including the Center for International Environmental Law, the United Nations Environment Programme, Environmental Defense, and the Sierra Club. Her first internship as an undergraduate was in the Communications Department at Defenders of Wildlife, and she is thrilled to have rejoined the Pack.

Erica holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from the George Washington University. She completed a one-year study abroad program at the London School of Economics.
