Areas of expertise: Media relations, brand visibility and social media strategy

Kayla works as a communications specialist, assisting Defenders of Wildlife’s government relations, conservation policy and Center for Conservation Innovation teams. 

She has nearly six years of strategic communications experience across a wide range of sectors and issue areas. Most recently, she served as a senior communications specialist at Invariant, a public relations and government relations agency, where she supported clients in the energy, housing, agriculture and defense industries. Prior to that, she held the role of digital communications specialist at Pepco Holdings, Inc., focusing on digital and social media strategy.

In her free time, Kayla enjoys exploring new Italian and Asian restaurants, traveling and doing Pilates.
