Areas of Expertise: National Wildlife Refuge System, National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska

Taylor joined Defenders as a Government Relations Representative after earning her J.D. from Vermont Law and Graduate School with a concentration in Animal Law. She was the winner of the 2024 National Animal Law Competitions in Appellate Advocacy and was awarded Best Brief and Best Oral Advocate. While a law student, she was a Clinician in the Energy Clinic where she helped to support efforts by local communities to develop renewable energy. Prior to her graduate work, Taylor obtained her BA in Political Science and International Affairs (minor in Environmental Studies) from Gettysburg College.

Taylor grew up in Philadelphia next to the John Heinz NWR where she was a frequent visitor and volunteer. The John Heinz NWR was instrumental in teaching her the intrinsic value of wildlife and biodiversity.

Taylor's interests include cheering for Philadelphia sports teams, swimming, hiking, listening to podcasts, and spending quality time with her cat, Gemini.
