Denver, CO

Colorado Parks and Wildlife today announced that Director Jeff Davis has delivered a recommendation to the CPW Commission to deny the Middle Park Stockgrowers’ Association’s petition to suspend wolf reintroduction.

“Director Davis and CPW staff have shown great leadership throughout this first year of wolf reintroduction,” said Michael Saul, Rockies and Plains program director at Defenders of Wildlife. “For the best chance at success, Colorado’s wolf reintroduction program must continue as planned without hindrance, and that includes increasing pack stability and genetic diversity by introducing new wolves, those from British Columbia this winter included.”
