Areas of Expertise: Human-carnivore conflict mitigation and coexistence, wildlife movement ecology, road ecology/habitat connectivity, and mesocarnivore conservation.

Kristin grew up in Minnesota where the outdoors was a major part of her life and fostered her interest in wildlife and their ecosystems from an early age. That interest guided her to pursue a career in wildlife biology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from Colorado State University and her Master of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Tennessee, where her research focused on analyzing human-bear conflict mitigation tools and bear movement corridors along a major interstate highway. She has several years of experience working in the field for non-profits, universities, and government agencies on research projects with a variety of species ranging from black-tailed prairie dogs and beavers to fishers and grizzly bears.
