Washington, D.C. (April 10, 2013) —Today the Obama administration released its 2014 budget plan, which provides vital funding for Department of the Interior wildlife conservation programs.

The following is a statement from Defenders of Wildlife President Jamie Rappaport Clark:

“When it comes to wildlife, the president’s budget has spun straw into gold. With the minimal funding available in the current dire budget situation, President Obama has provided important increases to protect our nation’s most vulnerable plants and animals, conserve America’s landscapes and help wildlife and ecosystems withstand the impacts of climate change. Appropriators in Congress should take this budget seriously and enact it.”
