Laura Sheehan serves as senior vice president of external affairs, managing the strategies to further awareness of Defenders' mission to protect imperiled wildlife.

Prior to joining Defenders, Laura served in numerous executive leadership positions in Washington, D.C. and has worked extensively in Democratic politics and in both chambers of Congress.

Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Bowie State University and Master of Arts in Public Communications from American University.
