The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is under unprecedented assault by Congress and the Trump Administration. More than 100 anti-ESA bills and amendments have been proposed by this Congress alone, and to make matters worse, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke recently proposed changes to the ESA that would dismantle this landmark law by gutting existing protections for threatened and endangered wildlife.

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is in imminent danger. And if the ESA is destroyed, imperiled wildlife will lose its most important protections. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) has proposed a bill to cripple the ESA. This bill is a power grab designed to take away authority from scientists and give it to states that lack the resources needed to save wildlife from extinction. Tell your senators to oppose Barrasso’s bill and all efforts to rewrite the ESA.

The National Park Service (NPS) has proposed lifting a ban on extreme killing methods on Park Service lands in Alaska. If the ban is removed, wolves, bears and other predators will be vulnerable to appalling and cruel killing methods that most people oppose. Tell the Trump Administration you oppose brutal killing methods in national preserves.

The Trump administration’s proposal to open up oil and gas development along the Pacific Coast would intensify threats to orcas and quicken their extinction unless protective measures are adopted now. The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) was expected to update the orcas’ critical habitat in 2017 to include coastal waters off Washington, Oregon and California but that update never happened. Urge NMFS to stop delaying this necessary step to save orcas before it’s too late.

One in four species of sharks is already in danger of extinction. The U.S. must take a leading role in the fight to stop the slaughter by banning the trade of shark fins at the national level. Call on your members of Congress to support S. 793 and H.R. 1456, the Shark Fin Trade Elimination Act, and put an end to the U.S. commercial fin trade.

Building a massive, impenetrable barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border would wreak havoc on wildlife, critical habitat and communities. For many species, it would be the end of the road – and as a taxpayer, Congress and the administration expect you to foot the bill for its destruction. Tell Congress not to use your taxes to fund the end of the road for wildlife.

Please stand with us. Together, we hope to collect a pledge signature for every caribou in the 200,000-strong Porcupine caribou herd, which is sustained by land we all own together as Americans.

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is our strongest tool to prevent species from going extinct forever amid what scientists are calling the sixth mass extinction. Without the ESA, it is estimated that 227 species would now be extinct. Help save our most effective wildlife law!
